The 63rd Annual Convention and Exhibition of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), to be held in Abu Dhabi from October 14-16, 2016, is expected to be content rich and will focus on the importance of the changing travel scenario and the need for members to rise beyond the routine. Sunil Kumar, president, TAAI informed that when a survey was done on 100 outbound passengers from India who visit Dubai, it was revealed that only about five per cent visit Abu Dhabi. One prime reason, he indicated, is the inadequate awareness on the growing strength of Abu Dhabi,
particularly in the areas of tourism and MICE.

For the convention, themed “Tomorrow Begins Now – Rise above Routine”, TAAI has associated with Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), which has assured of support to TAAI to hold this event in Abu Dhabi. TCA Abu Dhabi and TAAI are offering free UAE visa to registered delegates, attending the event. TCA Abu Dhabi  is also offering two nights pre and two nights post tours to delegates in Abu Dhabi/ Al Ain/ Saadiyat Island and Yas Island.

Speaking about the convention, Kumar reflected that the convention would be rich in its content as well as in offering experiential take – home to the delegates. He said, “Alongside this, evenings will be classy, pre and post tours will be plenty and above all, the attendees will be offered abundant luxury of a very high order.”

TAAI’s flagship event, also known as Indian Travel Congress, will be held at seven star hotel Emirates Palace.

The TAAI team also had meetings with several airlines in its pursuit to offer the delegates special fares. The convention will also focus on an exhibition that will offer exhibitors and vendors from the region the opportunity to connect with the Indian outbound industry and to promote India. TAAI will promote “Inbound into India” as an important subject at the convention to encourage the region to connect well with India.
