Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche
Sofitel Luxury Hotels has opened its first property in Abu Dhabi and the group’s second property in the United Arab Emirates. Located at the eastern tip of Abu Dhabi’s Corniche, the hotel features a contemporary architectural style. All of the hotel’s 282 rooms and suites blend modern design with authentic French ‘art de recevoir’ combined with Arabic hospitality. The 48 suites and 57 Club rooms offer access to the Club Millesime Lounge, located on the top floors with breathtaking views of the Corniche. It also debuts with six bars and restaurants. Corniche All Day dining where French and Arabic culinary tastes and flavours meet featuring live cooking stations with the best of French and Middle-Eastern food. La Mer offers guests a la carte fine dining with the best Gulf seafood, prepared in French style. Silk and Spice offers a contemporary take on Thai cuisine enjoyed in a traditional Thai sitting.
Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group announced that it has signed a long term management contract to rebrand and operate an existing luxury hotel and residences in Atlanta. The property, ‘The Mansion on Peachtree’, will be rebranded as Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta with effect from May 2012. The hotel and residences are housed in an iconic, 42-story mixed-use building, designed by celebrated American architect Robert AM Stern. The luxury hotel comprises 127 guestrooms and suites. Facilities include an all-day dining restaurant and lounge bar, as well as a wide selection of meeting rooms, including a 130-seat ballroom. The extensive spa facilities, complete with 14 treatment rooms, will feature the spa products and signature therapies. The property also features a 60-foot indoor swimming pool and a comprehensive fitness centre.
The development includes 25 private, luxury homes that will be rebranded and sold as The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta. The overall project is owned by a wholly owned subsidiary of iStar Financial, a fully-integrated finance and investment company focused on the commercial real estate industry.
