Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) recently held its India roadshow, with a mission to offer the country using a refreshed approach for its India clientele. The country has been primarily recognised as a premium beach destination and has witnessed success, both amidst family holiday goers, honeymooners and also MICE players. The tourism board feels the time is right to educate the India market on the new tourism experiences that Mauritius has to offer. Under the leadership of its new director, Kevin Ramkaloan, the board is connecting with the trade across regions. In an exclusive interaction with Express TravelWorld, Ramkaloan, stated, “My focus is on ROI from the India market. We are here with a clear mission to educate the clientele with what are the new offerings in Mauritius, which is a multifaceted destination. Our performance till now has been very positive and we only aim to improve that in the coming years. We carefully listened to the trade and acted upon it and are open to feedback to improve our product offerings.”

The director wants to give out a message that Mauritius has a series of experiences to offer that goes beyond the beaches. For having the world’s second largest zipline, to skydiving, from exclusive shopping to art galleries and UNESCO sites, and cultural experiences, there is a lot more to the country that the tourism board is keen to offer. The country also provides some encouraging offers to the film fraternity and is glad to invite members of the cine world to encourage film shootings in the region. The no-visa policy to improved air connectivity, Mauritius as a destination is completely ready to build more business connections in the field of tourism in India.
