&Beyond

&Beyond has announced the appointment of Jacky Humphries as chief marketing officer (CMO) from June 1, 2012. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with honours in Law and Religion.  She has successfully led various marketing teams from across the globe to positively impact revenues and branding of the respective businesses, including Oracle Corporation, Motorola, Neotel and  Nakheel Property in Dubai (The Palms), amongst others.


Lufthansa

Simone Menne has been appointed to the executive board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG as chief financial officer with effect from July 1, 2012. Menne succeeds Stephan Gemkow, who is stepping down as CFO in mutual agreement with effect from June 30, 2012 in order to take over as chief executive officer of the Haniel Group. Menne  has been chief financial officer of British Midland since June 1, 2010. A business management graduate, she began her career in the auditing department of the American ITT Corporation in 1987 before moving as auditor to Lufthansa in April 1989.


dnata Singapore

dnata has appointed Mark Edwards as its CEO for the company’s Singapore operation. Edwards is replacing Georgie Ong, who is retiring after more than 30 years from the operation. He has more than 30 years of experience in the air services industry and has worked in some of the world’s busiest airports including London Heathrow, Munich, Bangkok and London Gatwick.


CWT Meetings & Events

Floyd Widener has been appointed as senior vice president global of CWT Meetings & Events effective June 2012. In this new role, he will report to Cathy Voss, executive vice president, CWT Global Program Solutions and Meetings & Events. Widener joined CWT in April 2006 as senior vice president- Sales and Global Program Management Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). His previous positions included vice president- Corporate Solutions EMEA at Sabre Travel Network and sales director for Amadeus France.


IHG

InterContinental Hotels Group has confirmed that David Webster, chairman will retire on  December 31, 2012. Webster has been chairman of the Group since January 2004 and a member of the board since April 2003. Patrick Cescau will become chairman upon Webster’s retirement. He was group chief executive of Unilever from 2005 to 2008 and previously held other senior positions with the company, including finance director and CEO of the food division. He will join the board of InterContinental Hotels Group PLC as chairman on January 1, 2013.


Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts

Abid Butt has been appointed as chief executive officer (CEO) of Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts (BTHR). Butt has a legacy of experience with Banyan Tree, having served as the area general manager for the Group’s flagship resort, Banyan Tree Phuket, over ten years ago, followed by his appointment as the first vice president of operations from 2000 – 2002.  In his recent position, Butt was the vice president for asset management of host hotels and  resorts in the United States, responsible for preserving and enhancing the value of a collection of 15 luxury hotels.


Madhya Pradesh Tourism

Leena Karkera, of Madhya Pradesh Tourism, Marketing office, Mumbai has been promoted to Tourist Officer. Prior to her promotion she held the post of Resident Manager in Madhya Pradesh Tourism. She joined Madhya Pradesh State Corporation Ltd., Mumbai Office in the year 1984. and confirmed in 1986 as Receptionist cum Steno Typist  “Tourist Officer” from April 9th 2012.


Dusit

James Ramage has been appointed as assistant vice president, global sales of Dusit International. Ramage has almost three decades of experience in the travel and hospitality industry including more than 15 years managing sales, business development and marketing teams in Europe, Australia, China and Thailand. In his most recent position as regional director of sales and marketing for Starwood he was responsible for 22 hotels in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.


Airbus

Fabrice Bregier previously chief operating officer, Airbus has taken over as president and CEO. He succeeds Tom Enders (53), who has now taken over as CEO of EADS. Bregier started his five-year tenure with the appointment of Airbus Executive Committee

Guenter Butschek is the new chief operating officer, in charge of operations, engineering, procurement, quality & lean, IT & communications technology of Airbus. John Leahy remains chief operating officer – customers. Tom Williams, executive vice president (EVP) programmes; Charles Champion, EVP engineering and Domingo Urena-Raso, head of Airbus Military. Three EC members have in addition to their main Airbus function also an EADS corporate responsibility: Harald Wilhelm, chief financial officer (CFO);  Thierry Baril, EVP human resources and Klaus Richter, EVP Procurement. The A350 XWB programme, lead by Didier Evrard, will continue to report directly to Bregier.
