Vietnam conducts road shows in Delhi and Bhubhaneswar
Embassy of the SR of Vietnam, in association with OM Tourism, recently organised the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Road show in New Delhi and Bhubaneswar, under the theme “Vietnam – an incredible destination for Indian tourists”.
In his welcoming speech, H E Ton Sinh Thanh, Ambassador of Vietnam to India recalled the historic links between India and Vietnam. Thanh affirmed, “After nearly 30 years of renovation, from a country heavily damaged by the war, Vietnam has become one of the most dynamic economies in the region. Vietnam is home of eight UNESCO world heritages, well preserved historic relics and beautiful beaches which can rival the beaches in Thailand or Malaysia. Indian travellers can find the essence of Indian culture in Vietnam through Hindu temples in Ho Chi Minh City or at the My Son sanctuary or even at the numerous Indian restaurants. Vietnam has all kind of services to satisfy the need of foreign tourists, whether for holidays, shopping, leisure, food exploration, wedding, honeymoon or for business and conference.”
He added that 70,000 Indian tourists visited Vietnam in 2015, which is an increase of 27.27 per cent as compared to 55,000 tourists in 2014. Thanh invited Indian tour operators, especially from New Delhi and NCR, to take initiative to promote Vietnam as a tourist destination.
DCM Tran Quang Tuyen said, “VNAT is aware of the importance of tourism co-operation in all levels and facilitation of tourism businesses between enterprises. Several promotional activities such as road shows, participation in fairs and exhibitions, FAM trips have been carried out and further activities will be organised during this year.”
The event continued with a thorough presentation by Le Tuan Anh, deputy director general, International Cooperation Department, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, on the tourist infrastructure, products, services of Vietnam and gave the guests an insight into Vietnam and the experiences that the country has to offer. The event also saw a presentation by ICS Travel Group, Victoria Tours, Ben Thanh Tourists, Melia Hotels International and Vietnam Airlines.
