Vani Kapoor appointed as Thailand’s golf ambassador
Known as “Golfers’ Paradise”, Thailand is going with golf celebrity marketing. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced the appointment of Thailand’s golf ambassador in India, Vani Kapoor. This association is considered ideal as Thailand is a well known golfing destination and a favourite destination for women travellers.
Kapoor, aged 22, is currently India’s number one female golfer and has represented India in many domestic and international golf tournaments. She turned a professional golfer in 2012 and her current world ranking is 767. Kapoor got the Order of Merit Winner & Player of the Year (WGAI) in 2014 making her number one in the WGAI ranking. She has won 17 titles till now which is the most by any female player on the Indian tour.
Having recently played golf in Thailand, Vani said, “It is my great honour to be Thailand’s golf ambassador, I would like to thank to Tourism Authority of Thailand to give me this opportunity. Thailand is a great destination for golfers as it offers a wide range of courses to choose from at an value added price. It provides diversity in the golf courses from the hills in the north to beautiful courses by the beach in the south. With many courses being developed by leading professionals such as Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Greg Norman, Thailand is the ideal place for a great game of golf. The amazing Thai food, getting pampered in the spas and great shopping options, is just a cherry on the cake when I visit Thailand.”
