Turkey Tourism conducts eight-city workshop in India
The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with the Association of Turkish Travel Agents and Turkish Hoteliers Federation, conducted an eight-city roadshow titled ‘Destination Turkey Workshop’ for the travel trade in India. The roadshow was held in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Chennai. The workshop saw an attendance of 35 participants from Turkey comprising of travel agents and hoteliers, besides Turkish Airlines.
The roadshow received an average footfall of over 150 agents in each city. Apart from B2B interactions, over 100 frontline staff from various travel agencies in all eight cities participated in the ‘Destination Turkey Trainings’ conducted by the ministry.
The workshop began with a welcome address by Ozgur Ayturk, co-ordinator, Ministry of Culture and Tourism Turkey. A destination presentation was also conducted by Association of Turkish Travel Agencies which focused on Turkey as a destination for leisure, honeymooners and golf.
Speaking on the India market, Ayturk said, “India is an important market for us. We have seen a good response from India over the years. The eight-city roadshow was conducted to increase destination awareness and highlight the new attractions in Turkey. We hope this event will also add positive impact and further increase the Indian footfall in Turkey.”
