TripFactory raises Series A funding from Aarin Capital
Bengaluru based TripFactory.com raised its Series A round led by Aarin Capital Partners (founded by Mohandas Pai and Dr Ranjan Pai). Launched in 2014 by ex-Via founders Vinay Gupta and Amit Aggarwal, TripFactory was self-funded till now.
Amit Aggarwal, co-founder and CEO, TripFactory said, “India is a large growing market for both domestic and outbound travel and most consumers like personalising their own holidays or seek assistance by talking to experts who can plan for them and we are making that whole experience seamless using technology.”
TripFactory is one of India’s largest online customised holiday Store. It provides packages curated by tour experts and travel operators that travellers can further enhance. The company provides choice from over 10,000 holidays at over 100 destinations. TripFactory also partners with Airlines such Jet Airways, Go Air, SpiceJet and Air Costa to power holidays and flight + hotels on their own websites. Customisation is at the core of the offering. TripFactory also allows holidays to be customised and priced online by customers. The start-up has already sold around 4,000 holidays with a gross value of over US$ two mn in its first year of operations.
The overseas travel industry for leisure is growing at 40 per cent CAGR year-on-year. The Leisure Travel Market in India as of today is about US$ 80 bn annually which is set to grow to US$ 150 billion by 2024.
