Tourist spots in Manipur not affected by quake
A 6.8 magnitude earthquake, which struct the Northeastern state of Manipur, is said to have claimed eight lives and around 100 people are reportedly injured. Manipur is known for its tourism activities, however no casualty is said to have occured at tourist spots.
Speaking to Express TravelWorld, Chaoba Sharma, senior manager, Hotel Imphal, said, “The situation in terms of tourism, as of now, is is okay. Tourist spots have not been affected, though the main markets have been impacted by the earthquake. I hope conditions will improve soon. Our hotel properties are functioning fine and travellers can welcome.”
HR Khan, owner of Akash Travel Agency, based in Imphal said, “Things are fine. No casualty among tourists has been reported yet.”
