Tamarind Global expands its base of operations to Dubai
Tamarind Global, an Indian focused destination and event management company, has gone international by expanding its presence to Dubai, a popular destination of choice for many Indians as well as a huge source market for Indian weddings and events.
Tamarind Global already has a stronghold in Dubai for its tours vertical and has been prominent in the GCC markets for over a decade, enjoying a majority of the market share within the B2B sector for tours and customised holidays within India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Now Tamarind aims to offer a whole bouquet of event and wedding services to support its domestic and international operations from the Dubai office. Weddings and events will be supported by destination selection, planning & budgeting, guest list and vendor management, hospitality, travel & logistics, décor (Design, Production, and Technical), food & beverages curation, entertainment and fashion consultations for the bride & groom wear.
Apart from this, MICE events will also be supported. It identifies the perfect destination to managing the logistics of all guest movements and handles the acquisition of permits and licenses. A team of two people, Jai Chauhan, Wedding & Events manager and Poonam Chauhan,Business development/ Marketing & Sales manager, will start the base of operations at the Dubai office. Together, they bring to the table 15 years of work experience and extensive first-hand knowledge about the local markets, which will help drive business objectives in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Kunal Rai, vice president, Events and Weddings, will head the Dubai vertical, “Dubai is a global hub, a confluence of many large communities and gatherings, be it for weddings, social or corporate events. With the launch of our Dubai office, Tamarind now offers its services to a ‘global’ audience. We aim to lead the market by providing an all-inclusive bouquet of services to make each event unique, glamorous and memorable.”
Elucidating on the reason for expanding to Dubai, he said, “With the progressive growth of the Middle East as a popular destination as well as a growing source market for the business, Dubai is the best choice to set up a regional HQ. It will act as a start point that will drive maximum output to penetrate primarily the UAE and Middle East market. The biggest advantage is the inbound and outbound connectivity around the globe with an approximate flight time of three hours from India. There is an abundant availability of resources to successfully execute the events. In addition, Dubai Tourism’s support towards like-minded event planners to have a full-fledged SME also played a crucial role in settling on this choice. Dubai is expected to generate revenue and cliental from a broader spectrum, which will add a substantial year-over-year growth and also increase the brand profile globally.”
“In our primary market, which is India, Tamarind has captured a sizable market share and is synonymous with quality offerings at competitive prices. We are confident of seeing a similar development and growth for our vertical based out of Dubai,” he added.
