TAAI to organise convention in China for the first time
Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) and Yunnan Provincial Tourism Development Commission (YPTDC) have signed an MoU for organising TAAI’s 65th convention in Kunming in Yunnan province from November 27 to 29, 2018. This is the first time TAAI will be organising its annual convention in China.
For over an year there have been discussions between TAAI and YPTDC to organise the TAAI convention in Kunming. Kunming is directly connected from Delhi and Kolkata and has extensive connectivity from India via Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Guangzhou.
A hi-powered delegation from Yunnan was present at the signing ceremony which included Shi Lin, vice director general, YPTDC; Liu Huibo, vice director, International Marketing Department of YPTDC; Fang Limin, vice director, International Marketing Department of YPTDC and Li Bijian, deputy chief minister of the Embassy of China; Tian Xin, director, China National Tourist Office, New Delhi and Zhao Jun from the China Embassy. Representatives of the three Chinese airlines flying out of India – China Eastern, Shandong Airlines and China Southern were also present on the occasion.
This most important initiative is expected to herald a new level of tourism co-operation between India and China, whose tourism size and potential is immense.
