Singapore records one million Indian arrivals in 2015
Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced that the nation recorded over one million visitor arrivals from India in 2015, marking a year-on-year growth of 7.4 per cent in visitor arrivals. To celebrate this achievement, STB surprised all passengers flying to the country, with in-flight celebration in partnership with Air India, Jet Airways and Singapore Airlines.
Chee Pey Chang, executive director, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, STB, said, “Singapore celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2015, making it a landmark year for the country. Last year, the Singapore Botanic Gardens was accredited as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the opening of the National Gallery Singapore and Indian Heritage Centre generated interest among Indian travellers. We thank our friends from India for their encouraging support and we continue to welcome them to experience Singapore.”
In conjunction with the One Million celebrations, STB conducted a contest to thank travellers. The winner of Singapore’s ‘One Million Moment’ contest, Sahil Shroff, said, “I love Singapore. There’s so much to this country that you can never experience in one trip. Everytime I return to Singapore, it is a different experience.”
