Sartha Global to represent Simon Tourist Destinations in India

Real estate company Simon has announced that its tourism and marketing alliances team, a unit designed to drive international and domestic shopping traffic to over 100 designated ‘Simon Tourist Destinations,’ has appointed Sartha Global Marketing as its representative office in India. Sartha Global Marketing will be the official organisation representing Simon Tourist Destinations in India for travel trade promotions, consumer campaigns, partnership development and establishing an integrated communications strategy for the India market.

Simon Shopping Destinations offer shopping, dining, and entertainment across various locations. These are properties across multiple Simon property platforms including malls, premium outlets, and the mills representing such centres as The Forum Shops in Las Vegas, Copley Center in Boston, Sawgrass Mills in Miami, and Woodbury Common Premium Outlets serving the greater New York Tri-State area.

Sartha’s appointment comes at a time when Indian travel to the United States is expected to grow at a rapid pace. More than one million Indians visited the US in 2015 and a growth rate of 47 per cent is projected by 2020. Moreover, nearly 80 per cent of the Indian arrivals into the US stated shopping as one of their major activities during their stay in 2014, according to NTTO.

Kristen Esposito, vice president, global tourism and marketing alliances, said, “Sartha Global Marketing is the expert on promoting the United States to Indian travellers and with top destinations in their portfolio, we look to create synergies that will position Simon Shopping Destinations as the premiere shopping experience in the United States. With three different platforms of Simon Malls, premium outlets and mills, Simon Shopping Destinations offers memorable, one-of-a kind shopping experiences for Indian travellers.”

Sunil Puri, joint managing director, Sartha Global Marketing, added, “We are thrilled to work with Simon Destinations. The variety of shopping options offered by Simon is very well suited for Indian travellers.”
