MTDC ties up with Pawan Hans for Heli-Tourism
Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), along with Pawan Hans, has launched Heli-Tourism. The inauguration will be done by Swadheen Kshatriya, chief secretary, Government of Maharashtra, on January 7, 2016, in presence of Valsa Nair Singh, secretary, tourism and cultural affairs, Government of Maharashtra. The Heli-Tours will be open for tourists from 3:00 pm onwards.
These joy rides are aimed to attract tourists who have limited time at hand, but wish to explore Mumbai and other parts of the state quickly. The helicopters will take off from Juhu Aerodrome every day for a 10 minute joyride. The cost will be INR 3200 (inclusive of taxes) per passenger. Initially, only Mumbai tours will be introduced followed later on by Heli-Tours to Elephanta Island, Ajanta Caves, Ellora caves and subsequently also to Shirdi. Bookings can be done at all MTDC offices and reservation centres.
There should be minimum four passengers. No charges will be applicable for children upto two years of age. Tourists will also have to carry their identity cards.
Speaking on this occasion, Paraag Jaiin Nainuttia, managing director, MTDC, said, “Heli-Tourism in Maharashtra opens up a world of new possibilities for travellers. With an idea of providing more to tourists, we are looking to boost potential tourism in the state. We are optimistic that this new initiative will be well received and see tremendous demand in the days to come.”
