Minister for civil aviation review Air India’s performance
A review of Air India’s performance was taken by the minister for civil aviation Ashok Gajapati Raju Pusapati and minister of state for civil aviation, Dr Mahesh Sharma, with the senior management of Air India. Air India apprised the ministers of the progress made in the field of revenues, reduction of cost, customer services and social media.
The ministers appreciated the progress of Air India and asked that the efforts should be accelerated to achieve the turnaround at the earliest. Raju emphasised the need to continue with the good work done in the past with special focus on passenger handling, punctuality, team work and sensitivity to customer needs. He said “Constant efforts are required to ensure that the rich benefits earned by entering into Star Alliance should be sustained.”
Both the ministers have emphasised the need to take further initiatives to meet the present day challenges of the competition and improve its performance operationally and financially. They have also stressed on the importance of on-time performance and optimum utilisation of resources to meet the expectations of the travelling public.
