Mauritius Tourism conducts trade seminars in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Coimbatore
MTPA (Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority) India, in collaboration with Air Mauritius, recently conducted a travel trade seminar in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Coimbatore. The seminar was led by Vivek Anand – country manager, MTPA India and Vinit Gupte – manager, India and South Asian sub-continent, Air Mauritius.
Anand said,”We are overwhelmed by the response of the travel trade partners in all three cities. Indians visiting Mauritius are increasingly looking for different experiences through a range of activities. Mauritius offers activities for adventure lovers like sky diving, ziplining, quad biking, seakarting etc. It is seen that Indian travellers find ‘Walking with the Lions’, submarine rides, helicopter tours interesting and even consider these as once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Rum and tea tasting tours are also gaining popularity among tourists. Those who are sports-minded can enjoy a game of golf at one of the many championship level courses in Mauritius.”
“Indians, while in Mauritius, can enjoy long drives, shopping, night-life, delicious cuisine or simply rejuvenate themselves at world class spas. Mauritius is a perfect MICE destination. Besides its natural splendour, the island has all the key facilities required for organising successful meetings, conferences and events. Luxurious hotel accommodation and attractive wedding packages make Mauritius a popular wedding destination as well,” he added.
While talking about the future marketing plans, Anand informed, ”We will continue promoting Mauritius as a MICE, wedding, honeymoon, adventure, golf, family and luxury destination in 2016. As part of the promotional plan, MTPA India will conduct trade presentations and seminars in all major cities to increase the visibility of Mauritius to the trade and MICE partners. Familiarisation trips will be organised for travel agents, wedding planners and media to promote Mauritius. MTPA India will continue participating in trade, wedding and MICE fairs and sponsor golf and polo tournaments. To promote Mauritius among the consumers, MTPA will run an advertising campaign besides having promotional activities on radio, electronic channels and in malls.”
