ETW Staff – Mumbai
Malaysia Airlines has announced its latest product, MHupgrade, which offers guests the opportunity to upgrade their seats by determining their own price. MHupgrade is based on forecasted empty seats available on first and business class for customers to submit their offer via Malaysia Airlines’ website.
Guests with confirmed economy or business class tickets will receive an email from Plusgrade within 24 hours after their purchase from the airline informing them of available seats in the next higher class. Guests are invited to submit an offer which can be made through the MHupgrade system.
Alternatively, guests can check their eligibility for MHupgrade through www.malaysiaairlines.com by entering their MAS booking reference and surname in the ‘check eligibility’ box. Eligible customers will be shown the offer submission screen.
Dr Hugh Dunleavy, director of commercial, Malaysia Airlines, said, “This is a great opportunity for guests to get an upgrade to a premium cabin class. Make us an offer and we will only charge once your bidding is successful. There will be no introductory cost and unsuccessful upgrades will not be charged. On your upgraded sector, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of your upgraded class which includes priority check-in, baggage allowance, boarding and in-flight meals of business or first class as well as access to Malaysia Airlines’ Lounges or other airline partners’ lounges worldwide.”
MHupgrade allows customers to make changes or cancellation on the upgrade offer up to 72 hours before departure. The service is not available on Malaysia Airlines’ subsidiary airlines, MASWings and Firefly, codeshare flights, extra flights, Malaysia Airlines flights issued on other airlines’ tickets, open and group tickets, bookings with infants and Enrich redemption tickets.
