Malaysia Airlines enhances loyalty programme ‘Enrich’
Malaysia Airlines’ loyalty programme, Enrich will be adding even more value with a promotion in conjunction with the launch of its new accrual and redemption chart.
Khairul Nisa Ismail, vice president loyalty, Malaysia Airlines said, “Enrich is offering up to 50 per cent off redemption rates on selected destinations. We will continue to announce promotions as part of Enrich’s engagement and reward to all our loyal members.”
For members who find themselves short of a few miles to redeem tickets to their preferred destinations, Enrich also allows members to top up the difference using the cash plus miles option. Members only need a minimum of 1,000 miles to use this facility. With the introduction of the new chart, Enrich aims to continue to deliver a competitive and rewarding loyalty programme in line with the needs of its members and global best practices.
Short haul travellers particularly are set to enjoy decreased redemption rates with zones one and two seeing the most advantageous revisions. Members from Malaysia can arrive at destinations such as Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Bangkok, Siem Reap and many others for as low as 6,000 miles all year round.
With the addition of zone seven, members will be served with a more geographically aligned redemption system whereby members redeeming on shorter routes will fork out fewer miles than those on longer routes. For example, Perth to London will now fall in zone six and the rest of Australia will now be in zone seven. This is also more closely aligned to the ticket values.
Accrual rates have also been revised to provide an especially attractive proposition for business class travellers who could earn up to 175 per cent miles from the previous 150 per cent. The new redemption rates apply to Malaysia Airlines flights only, excluding codeshare and marketed flights whereas the new accrual rates apply to all flights marketed and operated by Malaysia Airlines. Accrual and redemption charts for partner airlines remain unchanged. Existing Enrich miles accrued and redeemed remain valid.
Ismail added, “The revisions are reflective of industry trends, members’ needs, and frequent flyer programmes offered by other airlines. We will continue to monitor members’ feedback to ensure Enrich offerings continue to be ahead of global industry benchmarks.”
