LA Tourism establishes presence in India
Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (LA Tourism) has announced that the company will establish a presence in India with representation by Sartha Global Marketing.
“India is the second fastest growing market for outbound travel and we are pleased to increase our efforts in this key region with Sartha Global Marketing. We look forward to welcoming more Indian travelers to L.A. which will help us achieve our goal of reaching 50 million visitors by 2020,” said Ernest Wooden Jr, president and CEO, LA Tourism.
In 2014, 92,000 Indian travellers visited Los Angeles, accounting for approximately US$ 73 million in direct spending. With double-digit visitation growth in 2013 and 2014 and positive economic growth forecasted, the new representation will help Los Angeles tap into India’s tourism potential.
Sartha Global Marketing will work closely with the LA Tourism team to expand the destination product, foster relationships with travel trade and MICE partners, and initiate LA-focused promotions with airline partners in India. The team will also assist with public relations efforts on an as-need basis.
“Los Angeles is such a fantastic addition to our portfolio. It’s an iconic travel destination with excellent weather, a newsworthy food scene, world-class attractions and shopping – all of which are highly attractive to visitors and MICE buyers from India,” said Sheema Vohra, managing director, Sartha Global Marketing.
