Kerala Tourism will be organising its first roadshow in Sri Lanka this month end. Speaking exclusively to Financial Express Online, Anupama TV, IAS, additional director (general), Kerala Tourism informed, “We have 19 suppliers registered for the roadshow in Sri Lanka. We thought of going to the destination because of several reasons. For Sri Lankans, visiting Kerala will be more like a domestic trip due to the close proximity. Also, there are a lot of similarities between Sri Lanka and Kerala but at the same time the backwaters will be a different experience for them. So Kerala will be different but they w ill also feel connected.”
Kerala Tourism will also be participating in a trade show in Beijing in June for the first time. The tourism board has earmarked INR 31 crore for its marketing and promotions in this financial year 2015-16.
