J&K Tourism organised road show in Delhi
In order to boost tourism in the state, J&K Tourism Department recently organised a road show in Delhi. Delegation of J& K Tourism officials consisting of Farooq A Shah, secretary of tourism, Jammu and Kashmir; RK Verma, director tourism, Jammu; and Mahmood Shah, director of tourism, Kashmir, among others attended the event.
While interacting with the travel and tour operators, Shah announced that an aggressive 360 degree promotional campaign is being launched to create awareness about the destinations of all the three regions of the state – Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. He also had a brain storming session with the travel trade representatives, wherein he announced that as part of the marketing campaign, 10 food festivals, travel trade roadshows and golf road shows will be organised in prominent leisure and MICE markets.
Announcing the new slogan of J&K Tourism, “See J & K in a new light”, presented J&K as a destination for trekking, shopping, nature and pilgrimage. Shah elaborated on the potential for golf tourism, especially when combined with conferences, conventions and events, as the state has some of the best golf courses as well as convention facilities. He also launched J&K Tourism/JKTDC Calendar for 2016, highlighting the destinations of the state. J&K Tourism will also be participating in OTM Mumbai.
