Incredible India Tourism Investor’s Summit to feature 700 investable projects worth more than 50,000 crore

The Ministry of Tourism in association with Confideration of Indian Industry(CII), Tourism Finance Corporations of India Ltd. (TFCI) and Make in India will be hosting the first ever Incredible India Tourism Investor’s Summit 2016 on 21, 22 and 23 September at Vidyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The two day event will see more than 250 investors, 29 state governments in discussion over 700 investable projects which are valued at more than 50,000 crore. In a special conference, Vinod Zutshi, secretary, Ministry of Tourism, informed, “There will be 23 seminars over two days featuring discussions among the leading industry leaders. 700 investable projects were identified by the state tourism boards in association with our knowledge partners. These projects have been listed on the website for international investors. The summit will see further discussion on these projects through presentations by the state tourism boards. 2000 B2G (Business to government) and B2B (business to business) meetings will be held over the time.”
The representatives from the ministry hosted road shows across the world in states like Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, United States, Singapore, Doha etc. Zutshi added, “The international delegation includes representatives from Abu Dhabi, Canada, Dubai, Germany, USA, Seachelles, South Africa, Thailand, UK among others. The domestic investors include Taj, Oyo, Carlson, Mahindra, AirBnB, Ginger etc.”
The states have been given a time slot of 45 minutes to showcase their presentations and some sessions have been organised on medical tourism, CEOs open house, CMs open house to provide a common platform for discussions.
This summit will be followed by a formation of Investment Cell at the Minsitry of Tourism to incorporate on the discussions and carry forward with the process. Zutshi, informed, “It will be an ongoing process where we will continue to recognise the investable projects. The cell will be a common platform for international investors and state tourism boards to interact with each other.”
Taking to Express TravelWorld, he said, “The main purpose of the summit is to increase the supply in the tourism segment. Main focus would be on the hospitality sector as the demand of rooms increases. Once we built the desired infrastructure the tourism of the destination will gradually increase.”
