AI’s New Delhi-San Francisco direct flight starts Dec 2
Air India commences its first-ever non-stop flights between Delhi-San Francisco from December 2, 2015. Slated to be one of the longest flights in the world, Air India will currently operate three flights services a week – Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, from Delhi, using Boeing 777 LR aircraft. The introductory flight will be connected to other metros like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad to reach out to travellers from these cities wanting a non-stop service to the West Coast of the USA.
While expressing happiness on Air India’s initiative, Tom Kiely, executive VP and chief tourism officer, San Francisco Travel, stated, “We are delighted to partner with Air India on the introduction of this new airline route for our valued travellers, including both business and leisure. This expansion of new route is key in strengthening our commitment to the growing and important Indian market.”
“I am pleased to welcome Air India to San Francisco – the Innovation Capital of the World,” said Mayor Lee. “By creating the first-ever nonstop service between San Francisco and Delhi, Air India has united two great cultural and economic centers of the world. As the only nonstop flight between India and the West Coast of the United States, I fully expect this new service to be a success”, he added.
