Airports Authority of India (AAI) will start digital payment system for paying parking charges at airports, effective today. The national airports operator, which wasn’t charging parking fee at airports till November 28 in the wake of demonetisation of high-value currencies, has begun the digital payment mechanism.
In a release, AAI said it will put in place digital payment mechanism at its operational airports. Car parking charges will be accepted through e-payment transactions using debit/credit cards, Paytm, freecharge and other digital payment methods.
There are 75 operational airports across India, including six run under joint ventures.
