Knysna Oyster Festival, South Africa
The Knysna Oyster Festival is one of the most popular annual events in the Western Cape and it has been taking place every year since 1983. The festival is a celebration of good life, sport and everything good that has happened in this place since its beginning. It began as the Knysna Winter festival, a series of sports events drawing people from all over to this region. This year, it starts from June 29 to July 8 and is termed as the ‘Best 10 Days of Your Winter’ where two sporting events take place namely, the Pick n Pay Cape Times Forest Marathon (half marathon), and the Pick n Pay Weekend Argus Rotary Cycle Tour. Visitors can also feast on multiple dishes like oysters that are served naked, cooked or garnished at over 30 local Tabasco hotspots at the festival.
