Osuna located at the Sevillian countryside has been declared as a historic-artistic site and is home to rich monumental wealth in its historic quarter. The history of this region can be traced back to the Tartessans. Osuna extends along the slope of a small hill which has served as a watchtower over the extensive fields of olive trees and cereals in the Sevillian countryside.The ‘Osuna Reliefs’ are Turtedani pieces from archaeological sites in this area which are kept in the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid. The Plaza Mayor is nestled at the heart of Osuna’s historic centre. Tourists can visit the town hall, casino, the Convent de la Concéption and the Torre del Agua of Moorish origins, which is now home to an archaeological museum. The Holy Week is a huge celebration here that has been declared as a ‘Fiesta of National Tourist Interest in Andalucia’. During the Holy Week, streets are decorated and centuries old religious carvings are paraded through the crowded streets.
