Temporary suspension of biometrics for visa applications to France
ETW STAFF – Mumbai
Effective July 1, 2013, the French Consulate in Mumbai has announced a temporary suspension of biometrics for visa applications to France. This temporary suspension will apply to all visa applicants and to all categories of visas (short-stay and long stay). Applicants will still have to secure an appointment with VFS to submit their file at the visa application centre. Applicants now need not visit the French Consulate, unless summoned for an interview. All passports have to be collected (or sent back) to the VFS.
Commenting on this development, Catherine Oden, director, Atout France India said, “This is yet another step in furthering the bilateral ties that already exist between our two countries. We hope that a positive outcome of this policy, is an augmentation in tourist arrivals from India to France. We would like to motivate all our travel industry partners to further enhance the positioning of France as a preferred tourist and business destination to their clients.”
