The official website of the Rajasthan State Archives Department has been launched at the Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) on September 26, 2013.
On the occasion Bina Kak, minister of tourism, art and culture, Rajasthan said, “Rajasthan State Archives Department was the first in the country to bring online the old archival details of the former princely states. This easy access of old records will be of immense value to research scholars and historians.”
“Apart from being available online, the original documents should also be carefully preserved so that they can be referred to physically when required,” she opined.
Kiran Soni Gupta, principal secretary, Art & Culture, said, “Over 35 lakh documents pertaining to the princely states as well as the freedom struggle were now online. They were available just on a click.”
