UAE headquartered Musafir.com online travel agency that recently forayed into the India market, has a strong focus on technology innovations. The company is planning to bring new products which would help travellers book their tickets easily.
Musafir.com is a part of Universal travels and tourism in the UAE which was founded in 2005. The company provides travel management solutions to corporate customers and leisure travel solutions to retail customers. The company has now entered the Indian market with an initial investment of INR 100 crore.
Albert Dias, co-founder, marketing and technology director, Musafir.com said, “We have got a very interesting product coming out in 2014 which we are hoping will change the way people are planning their holiday. The product is still under work. We believe that it would improve the way people book their holidays in India. A mobile application would also be launched for convenient bookings. Also, we are coming up with a holiday booking planner which would make bookings much more easier for the travellers. We are a travel portal that helps travellers offline also. We have our helplines where customers can ask any query.”
Musafir.com has brought on board Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador and a minor stake holder. Tendulkar, who holds a stake of 7.5 per cent in the company, said, “Musafir.com understands the business of travel and has been successfully catering to the emerging needs of travellers. I look forward to this exciting association as we encourage India to plan their travel with Musafir.com.”
Already present in two countries, Musafir.com is looking to expand in other Middle Eastern nations.
