INPROTUR (National Institute of Tourism Promotion in Argentina) has completed a multi-city interactive seminar in Bengaluru, Kolkata and Mumbai to promote Argentina in India. The interactive seminar provided an appropriate platform to interact directly with India’s leading tour operators, key decisions-makers from the industry, airline representatives, travel agents and the media.
The ‘International Marketing Plan 2012 – 2015 ConectAR’ provides some guidelines that will position Argentina as one of the destinations. Various strategies have been implemented based on the needs and expectations of potential tourists. Argentina Tourism has developed a new experiential website; www.argentina.travel. Here visitors can learn about the country along with the options/experiences that can be enjoyed by the Indian traveller.
Enrique Meyer, minister of tourism, Argentina, president of the National Institute of Tourism Promotion, said, “This was a superb platform to promote and showcase the attractions of the country and we are positive that this will increase the tourist arrivals from India into Argentina.”
Medha Sampat, director, KNACK – India representative for INPROTUR, said, “We have been thrilled with the overwhelming response. The interactive seminars provided a great opportunity to meet and present the innovative product to the Indian travel trade. With the diverse portfolio the positioning strategy varies for each product. Each product is unique and special. It will help explain the different Argentine destinations in depth to create a better understanding and develop the right perception about the country. The destination offers an assortment of products which can be packaged in an innovative way, so it is important to educate the trade on this destination.”
