IndiGo adds Varanasi as its 36th destination

IndiGo, India’s low-cost and low-carbon airline has announced the addition of Varanasi as its 31st domestic and 36th overall destination in its schedule for 2014. The new schedule introduces three new daily non-stop flights to Varanasi from Delhi, one new daily flight each between Bengaluru-Varanasi, Mumbai-Varanasi and Hyderabad-Varanasi (via Delhi).
Speaking on the launch of new flights and the addition of the new destination, Aditya Ghosh, president, IndiGo said, “We are extremely pleased about adding Varanasi as our 36th destination of operations as it is a landmark moment for us. Varanasi is going to be an important part of our destination network because it holds good prospect for religious and leisure travellers apart from the students belonging to the region in the metros. We are committed to providing maximum connectivity from Varanasi on our network by catering to various segments and we are confident that these additional services will prove immensely popular with our passengers. We are planning to increase the connectivity to other destinations and expand our operations with additional flights. These new flights will further consolidate IndiGo’s position as the fastest growing airline in India, with 75 brand new Airbus A320s – 6E will operates 472 daily flights, connecting 36 destinations.
