As the world is preparing itself for Sachin Tendulkar’s 200th Test match, online travel portal Musafir.com in association with TABcabs has decided to offer free cab rides for fans to the Wankhede Stadium. Musafir.com has engaged 200 TABcabs to provide free rides to the stadium from November 14– 18, 2013.
In order to avail the service, fans need to display their match tickets at designated pick up points across various locations in the city. The cabs would also drop the fans back to the designated points from where they are picked up.
Speaking about the initiative, Sachin Gadoya, managing director, Musafir.com said, “Sachin Tendulkar has entertained sports enthusiasts across the globe for the last 24 years. On the occasion of his 200th test match, providing comfortable travel to cricket fans to witness his final test match is our small way of saluting the Little Master. Though the sporting icon will be missed on the cricket field, we are proud to be associated with the legend as the brand ambassador of Musafir.com.”
Prasenjeet Bagchi, chief marketing officer, TABcab said, “We are very happy to be a part of Sachin’s 200th match through this initiative by Musafir.com. In honour of the occasion, all cabs dedicated for this day will be branded, internally and externally with special messages giving a tribute to Sachin.”
The 200 TAB cabs will carry fans to and fro from designated junctions across the city to the Wankhede stadium from seven am onwards with the drop time as five pm onwards. The junctions on the routes of the cabs are as follows: Western Express Highway (Borivali National Park crossing, Goregaon Oberoi Mall, Andheri East West flyover, Bandra Kala Nagar junction); Eastern Express Highway (Ghodbunder road, Thane; Majiwada and Teen Haat Naka, Thane; Mulund check naka; Suman Nagar) and other connecting highways (Vashi station; R.K. studios, Chembur; Pizza Hut, Powai).
