First Ayurveda resort and spa coming up on Monroe Island near Kollam

Monroe Island on the Ashtamudi Lake near Kollam in Kerala will soon have its first Ayurveda Resort and Spa to be built by Quilon Hotels & Resorts which owns the Quilon Beach Hotel and Convention Centre based in the city. Speaking exclusively to Express TravelWorld, K Sreekumar, managing director, Quilon Hotels & Resorts, revealed, “The project which is expected to cost Rs 100 crore will be spread over 10 acres. Part of the project also includes a Fishing Farm to be built on two acres which will be used for day tour packages by the group. Water sports and boating activities are also planned. Paperwork is being completed and we expect to start work soon.” While the fishing farm and day acitivities are expected to open in 2013, the resort is scheduled to be completed by 2014.
