DGCA approves winter schedule 2012 of scheduled domestic airlines

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has approved the winter schedule 2012 of scheduled domestic airlines effective from October 28, 2012. In all, 10,935 departures per week have been approved, which translate into 1562 daily departures. Air connectivity will be available to/ from 73 airports in the winter schedule 2012.
There is reduction of flights in winter schedule 2012 vis-a-vis winter schedule 2011 by about 19 per cent. Air India, Alliance Air, Jet Airways and JetLite have reduced capacity in domestic market in winter schedule 2012. Whereas, Spicejet, Go Air and IndiGo operations will increase in winter schedule 2012 due to capacity augmentation.
Mantra is a new scheduled regional airline of North region, which commenced their operations in July 2012.
