ETW STAFFNew Delhi

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), has become the first airport in the world to secure BSA (Business Software Alliance) certification in Standards-based Software Asset Management (SAM) for Organisations, a programme known as CSS(O). The first and only enterprise-level certification, CSS(O) affirms an entity is compliant with its software license agreements and its SAM processes are aligned to the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) SAM standard.

So what is there in it for you as a passenger? It make your travel far more secured through genuine software ensuring timely and accurate display of your flight information, smooth baggage checking process, secured wifi usage inside the terminal, prevention of malware and pirated software. In a nutshell it includes each and every single IT related thing that you as a passenger may come in contact at the Delhi Airport. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India and KPMG assisted DIAL employees and new recruits to understand their roles and responsibilities vis-à-vis the software asset management by circulating educational emails and posters. After the CSS(O) programme, DIAL has made it mandatory for license documents to be handed over when the projects reach operational stage. This has helped DIAL streamline its software lifecycle from procurement to retirement.

Commenting on the development, I Prabhakara Rao, CEO, DIAL, said, “We are extremely excited to mark another milestone by adopting world-class software asset management practices, which helps us improve safety, efficiency and other pertinent parameters for stakeholders. Moreover, this further differentiates our services, while simultaneously safeguarding all IT assets by preventing any security breaches.”
