Leading youth travel company, Contiki Holidays has announced the partnership with Thomas Cook (India) as their new sales agent in India. Kevin Khor, head of sales and marketing, Contiki Asia, said, “We are extremely excited with the partnership and by working with Thomas Cook (India), we hope to continue encouraging more youths to start travelling and see the world as we believe that we only have one life, one shot, so we have to make every moment count. Plus, we saw a huge growth in India this year and with Thomas Cook coming on board as a partner, we hope to grow India as one of the top market in Asian youth tourism.”
Shibani Phadkar, senior vice president and head – leisure travel (outbound) products, contracting, operations and tour management, Thomas Cook (India), said, “We are honoured to represent Contiki Holidays in an exclusive partnership for the Indian market. At Thomas Cook India, we have observed with delight the growth of not just the youth but also the youthful Indian traveller. Their hunger for unconventional, experiential travel was the genesis of our path-breaking and pioneering Youth product, ‘Rock-On Holidays’. Our recently conducted ‘Through the Crystal Ball’ survey reiterates the impact of India’s Gen Y, with 72 per cent of young Indians emphatically stating their intent to travel on holiday despite the economy or Rupee volatility. Thomas Cook India’s partnership with Contiki Holidays is hence a natural progression, offering us delightful synergy in tapping India’s rapidly emerging youth segment.”
