Belgium and VFS Global extended their visa application services for Belgium by opening a Belgian visa application centre in Pune. This new initiative is in continuation to the decision of extending such services to six new locations across India. The key features of the new centre are longer operating hours, tracking of application status and dedicated call centers to answer queries. The new service also provides sms alerts and door step delivery of passport for the convenience of the applicant.
Van den Bossche, consul general of Belgium in Mumbai said, “We are bringing our service closer to the public and business community, to enhance user friendliness. We recognise the importance to open a visa application centre in Pune, a rapidly growing hub for industry, trade and tourism. Together with Chennai, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad this additional centre will offer a high quality and expedient service to our applicants; and we will strive to return passports within 3 working days. Also Belgium’s festival Europalia, one of Europe’s largest cultural events, will focus on India this year and will be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee.”
