Airberlin has extended its codeshare agreement with its strategic partner Etihad Airways to include flights to India. Daily connections are now available via Abu Dhabi to Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai and New Delhi. Tickets to these six destinations can be booked with airberlin.
With the seven additional services between Berlin and Abu Dhabi starting on the October 26, 2014, the number of destinations available with Etihad Airways via Abu Dhabi has increased from 19 to 43, with destinations in the Gulf, northern Asia (Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo Narita), South-East Asia (Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta) and Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane).
In future, airberlin is also planning to include Perth and Seoul as destinations in its codeshare network with Etihad Airways.
