IndiGo exempts sportsperson’s weapon handling charges
IndiGo has announced exemption of weapon handling charges to Indian sportsperson travelling for tournaments/events – both on domestic and international sectors. Effective January 1, 2018, Indian sportsperson travelling to either domestic or international destinations for a competition or representing the country, will be exempted from paying the charge levied for firearms, air guns and/or ammunition provided they carry a government recognised identification document for sportsman. They will also be required to carry a bonafide for carriage of arms and ammunition on the basis of a written document issued by the president or secretary of the sports club sponsoring him/her for the shooting event and a valid license.
