Romania to tie up with Indian trade partners for destination promotion

Romania tourism officials recently visited India, in order to understand the needs of the India market. In order to grow tourism numbers from the Asia market, the officials visited a few countries to tie up with trade partners.

Romania set up its tourism office in Beijing which also looks after the India market in coordination with the embassy here in Delhi. While talking to the media during a special event organised by the PHD Chambers in New Delhi, Cristina Tarteata, secreatary of state, ministry of tourism, stated, “We are looking to promote Romania in a big way and since India, China, South Korea, Japan are the top Asian markets, we feel it is important to understand the traveller’s needs here.”

Further talking about the country’s offerings she added, “Romania is a beautiful country which offers everything from natural landscapes , adventure sports to nightlife. Apart from the country side which offers ancient customs we also have rural tourism, wellness tourism in untouched areas. We are looking to tie up with partners in order to package the right kind of product.”

When asked about any ease in visa regulations, Radu Dobre, Ambassador of Romania to India stated that Romania accepts ‘Schengen visa’ despite not being part of the same region. However they will ease the process for visas in the coming time. He also informed that around 20,000 Indians visited Romania last year and they are hoping to increase this number.
