The Sea Organ, Croatia
Located in the city of Zadar in Croatia, the Sea Organ is an architectural wonder and also an experimental musical instrument, which plays music by way of sea waves and tubes located underneath a set of marble steps. The Sea Organ, created by architect Nikola Bašić, has become a modern icon of the city and attracts many tourists. The currents of waves and their passage through musical pipes installed beneath the surface of the sea create melodious sound. The Sea Organ was also awarded with the prize ex-aequo of the fourth edition of the European Prize for Urban Public Space in 2016.
