Brand USA concludes ‘Discover America’ seminars in South India
Brand USA completed a string of educational seminars across three cities in South India from January 11-13, 2016. The Brand USA ‘DiscoverAmerica’ Educational Seminars saw an attendance of around 300 travel agents and tour operators in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
With the aim to promote ‘Great Outdoors’ and ‘Urban Escapes’, these seminars provided in-depth knowledge on new products and attractions. The agent training programme served as a platform for a one-on-one interaction with the travel trade.
The ‘DiscoverAmerica’ educational seminars also focused on the USA Discovery Programme – an online training course which provides the trade the knowledge and skills needed to enhance their product and sell trips to the USA more effectively.
Apart from the Brand USA presentation, the seminars also included presentations by multiple US destinations such as Visit California, San Francisco Travel, Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, NYC & Company, Travel Nevada and Visit Orlando.
Representatives from the US Consulate General and US Commercial Services were also present at the seminars. John Fleming, commercial consul for South India and Ben Ousley, consular manager, consular section – South India attended the seminar in Chennai; Jose Vega, vice consul, U.S. Consulate General, Hyderabad attended the seminar in Hyderabad.
