Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh
Situated in western most part of Arunachal Pradesh, Tawang is bounded by Tibet to the north, Bhutan to the south-west and Sela ranges separated from West Kament district in the east. A wide variety of tree species, blue pines and orchids are found in the district. The Tawang Monastery is one the most important tourism attractions and holds deep significance among localmen. Fairs and festivals have always been an integral part of the Monpa tribe of Tawang. Some important festivals are Losar, Torgya, Dungyur, Choekor, Ganden Ggamchoe, Drukpa, Tse-ze and Zhepa Saka Dawa. Other tourist attractions include War Menorial, Sela Pass, Jang Waterfalls, Jaswant Garh, Urgelling Gompa, Jong Nga Tser Lake and Chagzam Bridge.
