Dutch travel search engine GeniusTravel enters India market

Launched in late 2014, Dutch travel search engine GeniusTravel, as part of its next stage of growth, has entered the India market. The main aim of the founders is to start with a price slider tool as a first step, which is believed to empower people to get more from their holiday budgets. A Google study showed that for 85 per cent of travellers, budget is the most important when searching for a holiday.

Gennie Freen, founder, GeniusTravel Group, commented, “The launch of GeniusTravel in India, represents a period for the company. We know that we are the first travel search engine offering customers the opportunity to book travel the way they want through our price slider feature. We want to focus on India where we assume our budget-first way will attract consumers, this together with the expected growth of online travel in India for the coming years.”

GeniusTravel started its launch by participating in the Rickshaw Run. GeniusTravel is currently available on desktop in seven different languages and mobile app, and incorporates six world currencies.
