Let’s travel together.

Rwanda to target India’s MICE sector

Rwanda Development Board’s (RDB) tourism and conservation department is going to target the Indian MICE business in 2016. RDB’s Meetings Planners Guide 2016 was launched at a function held at Fortune Exotica Hotel, Vashi, Navi Mumbai, to co-incide with the award ceremony for women achievers organised by the Indian Merchants’ Chamber (IMC), Navi Mumbai Chapter.

IMC, a 108-year-old chamber of commerce and industry, will be collaborating with RDB to enhance trade, tourism and investments into the country.

Clarence Fernandes, representative, RDB, said, “We are pleased to partner and collaborate with IMC to enhance India’s footprints in Rwanda. We are working closely with various travel bodies like the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI ), Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI), and all others to showcase Rwanda’s tourism potential as well as investment opportunities in the tourism sector. This will open up a new destination to the Indian outbound travel market.”

Rwanda Tourism will establish its presence in Mumbai for the first time by participating at the forthcoming Travel and Tourism Fair/Outbound Travel Mart 2016 (TTF/OTM), which will take place from February 18 to 20, 2016. Rwanda Development Board, Rwanda Convention Bureau, the Rwanda High Commission as well as both hotel companies and inbound tour operators from Rwanda will be present to showcase the destination and discuss business opportunities and holiday packages with their Indian counterparts.
