WTA declares Kenya world’s leading safari destination
Kenya has been voted as the World’s Leading Safari Destination at the 2015 World Travel Awards (WTA) held in, El Jadida, Morocco. In Morocco, Kenya emerged the winner against country nominees of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
While announcing the awards, WTA president, Graham Cooke, said, “Kenya’s victory is an endorsement of the destination known as home to authentic safari.We congratulate Kenya on this deserving win and encourage the country to continue their commitment to preserving the unique heritage bestowed to the country for the sake of generations to come.”
Besides beach and safari attractions, Kenya excels in other tourism products including culture, archaeology, and palaeontology. Furthermore, MICE facilities avail tourism opportunities for business and leisure travellers.
Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has been voted Africa’s leading tourist board for the fourth time in a row.
